Yessah! Half-way there and rolling on strong! There’s a lot to work in this Wednesday so get ready to make some mid-week parties happen all over town tonight.
Maybe you’re actually looking to chill out with some tunes and a cold beverage this Wednesday and that’s perfectly fine because you can head on down to Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland as j.hjort presents an evening chock full of loungey, downtempo, deep house sounds. There’ll be drink specials and plenty of relaxed people to hang out with as this free event gets underway right around 8 o’clock.
The Clash of the Titans gets ready to celebrate Valentine’s Day in a big way with two super smooth singers going head to head for this week’s battle upstairs at Empire Dine and Dance in Portland. Starting at 9:30 get ready for a night of lovin’, dancin’, singin’, drinkin’ and feelin’ good as soulful singers Al Green and Bill Withers take each other one song for song this pre-V-Day evening.
If you’re looking to get down to some local hip-hop this evening then scoot on over to The Big Easy on Market Street in Portland for Rap Night! Tonight hosts Ill by Instinct and El Shupacabra welcome Elijah Divine, MC22 and DJ Nocturnal to the stage for an all-original showcase of heavy hitting rap tunes. There will also early and late open mics, so be sure to get there right around 9 tonight to check it all out – and ladies you get in free this evening! Boom.
Check out some free open mic action over at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland tonight for this week’s installment of their open mic night. Starting at 8 o’clock you can check out local musicians sing some songs or even sign up to play some tunes of your own. Hosted by local singer-songwriter, Dustin Saucier tonight’s event is absolutely free. Following the open mic portion of the evening, stick around to take in some high caliber indie rock jams courtesy of The Box Tiger, who get things going right around 10.
If you’re down south tonight, you can check out a show full of the Seacoast’s best acts over at Fury’s Publick House in Dover, NH. Tonight New England’s newest hit-makers, The Connection, who relish in everything rock n’ roll via 1960, play a show alongside the pop-punk act, A Minor Revolution. Things get shakin’ right around 9.
