Doing it to it is the only way I can really describe how I’m getting through this Tuesday. If you’re chugging right along as well and looking to let off a little steam, there are few places to do so all around town tonight. Here’s the rundown of what’s the what this Tuesday.
If you’re hanging around downtown Portland this evening, be sure to swing through Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street where local musician Paddy Mills will be performing. Paddy Mills is an award winning folk singer/songwriter whose songs are as salty as the Maine coast he calls home. Tonight’s free show gets started right around 6.
Another night of Open Rounds will be happening down at Blue on Congress Street in Portland. Starting at 7 musicians can sign up to be a part of a 3 person round and pick a song to perform with the other two musicians featured in the round. These rounds are open to any one who enters, so if you’re looking to play some tunes with some other folks you should sign up and check it out. The evening will close with a featured set of songs courtesy of local artist Brian Dolzani right around 8:30 or so. This event is free, fun and a great way to network with other talented artists, so swing through and check it out.
Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland is ready for yet another open mic for DJs with their free dance party, which allows up and coming record spinners to take a chance and get up on the tables during the event. All you need to bring are your records, CDs and controller. All formats of music are welcome. Tonight’s DJ open mic begins right around 9 o’clock, so check it out.
Another freebie to check out is over at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge as DJ Ponyfarm presents another entertainment-filled evening of karaoke. That’s right, if you’re looking to belt it out and be your own rockstar, you can do just that starting at 9 o’clock tonight and with absolutely no cover charge.
If you wanna take some time out this Tuesday and chill out to some experimental jazz that mosey on over to Local 188 on Congress Street in Portland this evening where the Jaw Gems will be doing their thing from 10 o’clock until closing time.
