This evening marks b.good in the Old Port’s 2nd Annual Love, People event, which is this wonderful local business’ own way of promoting a positive platform to do good amongst the community with a party to celebrate the people of Portland and beyond with some local food, beverages and music. Things get underway at 6 tonight with a free performance from the soulful Lyle Divinsky. There will also be raffle prizes from local businesses such as Bard Coffee, Envy Hair Salon, Omi’s Coffee, El Corazon Food Truck, Fetch, Find and more to be given away, so stop on by, enjoy some wonderful tunes, and do good and be good at this awesome community event!
Local restaurant Gather in Yarmouth continues with its Acoustic Wednesdays music series as they welcome Portland-based, acoustic folk artist Caroline Cotter to perform during a free dinner-time set that gets underway at 6 o’clock.
Local poet and musician Dave Morrison will be performing in Congress Square Park in downtown Portland this Wednesday evening as part of The Friends of Congress Square Park and SPACE Gallery free music series. Join Dave in the Square around 6 o’clock for Poetry Rocks, which merges his life on the stage with his life on the page as he combines his poetry with guitar for a truly unique experience of music and prose during this free, all ages event.
Will Mallett of local alt-country act The Mallett Brothers Band will be playing a special solo show out on the Portland Lobster Company deck this Wednesday evening. Beginning at 6 check out some of Will’s original material alongside some tried and true Americana, folk and country covers during this free, all ages show.
Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Loudon Wainwright III will be performing as part of The River House Restaurant’s Summer Concert Series at Prescott Park in Portsmouth this Wednesday evening. Wainwright’s career has been long and illustrious resulting in 22 album releases, a part on the television show M*A*S*H, and many notable artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs and more have recorded many of his songs. Don’t miss your chance to check out this live outdoor concert as things get underway right around 7 o’clock tonight.
Genre-defying alt-rockers The Alternate Routes return to Portland once again for a show at Port City Music Hall in Portland alongside Americana rock n’ rollers Red Wanting Blue and Portland’s own Joe Gallant and The Transit. Whoop it up at this Wednesday night party starting right around 8 o’clock.
