Holy Mother of Pearl, it’s Hump Day! We are almost half way thru this week and Wednesday night is jam packed with fun things to check out. Let’s see what’s cooking for tonight.
If you’re looking for a little bluegrass and twang to start out your Wednesday evening look no further than RiRa on Commercial Street in Portland where the dynamic duo known as North of Nashville will be getting the party started right around 8:30. Tonight these two gents team up to play you all the pop songs you know and love, but with a bluegrass twist. It’s free and fun, so check it out.
Aw geez, tonight’s Clash of the Titans over at Empire Dine and Dance in downtown Portland gets ready to tickle those funny bones as two comedic giants go head to head for this week’s battle. Starting at 9, Tenacious D takes on Lonely Island for what I can only imagine to be a non-stop laugh-fest upstairs at The Empire. I might have to bust out my Pick of Destiny and check this one out.
Of course Wednesday night means it’s poppin’ off over at The Big Easy on Market Street in Portland where another edition of Rap Night will be taking place. Each and every Hump Day local hip-hop heavies Ill By Instinct and El Shupacabra host an epic party featuring some of the brightest rappers around. Things get fun, funky, and fresh starting around the 9 o’clock hour, so check it out.
Nashville singer-songwriter Kiernan McMullan will be playing a gig over at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge in Portland tonight. Check Kiernan out right around 10 o’clock as he takes the stage directly following local musician Dustin Saucier’s weekly open mic night.
