Here we go, one more time, everybody’s feeling fine, here we go now! Yup, I totally just referenced some N’Sync up in this piece, you know why? Because I am attempting to boost my own Monday morale because yet another Monday is upon us, ready to do its best to completely beat us down, but instead of letting a case of the Mondays win another round, we should hike up our Party Pants and rock this Monday like its never been rocked before. Here we go!
Why not start off the evening by checking out something super fun that’s also super free? Head on down to this week’s open mic night happening at RiRa on Commercial Street in Portland where Evan Walsh hosts his own version of an adult talent show starting right around 8. EvGuy’s got instruments available and if you can’t actually play, he’ll help you out by jamming a version of a song for you to sing along to. Grab some pals and check it out!
More in the way of free fun is happening downstairs at Empire Dine and Dance on Congress Street in Portland where North of Nashville play their regular Monday night gig. Starting right around 8 the local duo play bluegrass-tinged tunes served up with a healthy dose of country twang. From catchy originals to toe-tapping, honky tonk covers, these fellas are certain to boost your Monday morale!
You can also get down on this Monday night by making a stop at The Big Easy on Market Street in Portland for this week’s edition of The Players Ball. Tonight you can get funky and jam out with some of the local music scene’s best players at The Players Ball, which features a house band of some super talented musicians such as Adam Frederick, Max Cantlin, Dan Boyden, Chas Lester and more. Each and every Monday night these cool cats get together to play tunes not only with each another, but also with anyone who shows up with an instrument. It’s a great time for musicians and music lovers alike, so check it out starting right around 9 o’clock.
