From smooth yacht rock sailing at Empire Dine & Dance to free karaoke at Slainte, Tuesday is ready to hold it down!

I want to be a Nunz motivational speaker for you all this week and say, look, it’s Tuesday, we’re making it slowly but surely. It’s not really that bad, I mean I am quite aware of how much it sucked to go back to pretending to be a high functioning adult at work Monday after drinking all of the vodka in southern Maine this weekend, but you gotta do what you gotta do to make the rock and the roll happen.  Those adult beverages ain’t gonna pay for themselves, bub.  Anyway, what I’m trying to get at is we’re rollin’ right along and Tuesday night isn’t slowing down for anyone, so suck it up and get out there tonight.  I hear live music, good times, and great people make the weekdays bleed more quickly into the weekend.

The Big Easy is taking this week off from Cover to Cover, but owner Ken Bell realizes that Tuesdays at The Big Easy are party central and are usually teaming with tons of talented musicians, so tonight he’s being the biggest sweetheart in Maine and throwing a Musicians Potluck.  That’s right it’s a chance for everyone to eat, drink, and hangout in the favorite downtown music venue.  It’s free and there’ll be tons of food, holiday cheer, and drink specials all night long, all that is asked is that if you do come, bring something for everyone to snack on.  It should be a wonderful time full of friendly faces so if you’re looking to hang and eat and catch up with some of the coolest cats in town swing on by right around 8pm.

Empire Dine and Dance in Portland get super smooth tonight where their new Tuesday night shindig known as Yacht Blooded: A Live Smooth 70s AM Radio Party that’ll be taking place downstairs each and every Tuesday evening for free! Starting right around 8 o’clock you can check out many tunes that you know all the words to (whether you’d like to admid it or not) such as covers of Hall and Oates, Ambrosia, Gerry Rafferty and more! It sounds like a fun time with tons of dance party potential, so check it out!

If you’re looking to break it down tonight then head out to Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland where another installment of Drop It: Open Decks will be happening with things kicking into high great right around 9. Tonight you can sign up for a slot DJing some open tables, all you’ll need to bring with you are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones. Tonight Kid Ray will be on hand to provide an opening set full of underground house music. As always Drop It is an absolutely free-of-charge event and is always a good time, so shine up those dancing shoes and get ready to throw it down this Tuesday night.

Another freebie to check out takes place over at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in downtown Portland as DJ Ponyfarm presents another fun-filled evening of karaoke. That’s right, if you’re looking to belt out all of your favorite pop tunes and be the star of Slante you can do just that starting at 9 o’clock tonight and with absolutely no cover charge

The seriously talented cats known as Jaw Gems lay it down at Local 188 this Tuesday evening. These fellas get together each and every week to create everything from funk, soul, and jazz, and this month they are welcoming local emcees to perform with them. It’s a plethora of tasty tunes that are sure to delight your earholes, so be sure to swing by and check ‘em out tonight starting at 10:30pm.
