Free show in Congress Square Park with Leveret, A Severe Joy & Boyfriends

One more day until the freakin’ weekend, babies. We’ve basically got this in the bag and it doesn’t hurt that this Thursday evening is guaranteed to be a good time. Kick things into high gear and check out all the cool stuff that’s happening all around town and beyond tonight!

If you’re kicking around Cumberland around Happy Hour this evening makes sure to swing through Doc’s Cafe where local acoustic duo Uke n’ Smile will be having some fun starting right around 5 o’clock. Enjoy some infectious acoustic tunes, great food and good people at this free and early show.


This summer SPACE Gallery will be hosting a Local Music Showcase in Congress Square Park each month from now through August. All of these shows are absolutely free and all ages. Help them kick off this unique series chock full of fun local acts as they welcome Portland favorites LeveretA Severe Joy, and Boyfriends to perform at tonight’s premier performance, which gets underway at 6pm.


Country crooner Tim McGraw will be live on the stage of Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion up in Bangor this Thursday evening. Fellow country rockers Kip Moore and Casadee Pope will kick things off as things get twangy beginning at 6.


Portland’s own gypsy blues-folk act Muddy Ruckus will be performing a free show down at The Frog and Turtle on Main Street in Westbrook tonight. Enjoy some rhythmic guitar, slamming upright bass and haunting vocal harmonies that’ll leave you stomping your feet beginning at 7.


Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in Portland welcomes local singer-songwriter Zac Champman to their cozy abode for a fun night of soft rock and pop songs. Zac goes acoustic at tonight’s free show, which gets started right around 7, so be sure to pop in if you’re downtown this Thursday evening.


Pretty Girls Sing Soprano will be filling Blue on Congress Street in Portland some sweet songs and sounds starting at 7 o’clock tonight. If you’re out and about, be sure to stop by and check out this free show that’ll be full of tight, clever and original harmonies.


Steve Jones and friends will be playing some tasty Thursday night tuneage over at The Liberal Cup in Hallowell. Jones blends everything from rockabilly, country, old-time rock and roll and more to create some especially well-crafted jams that’ll be sure to make your ear holes happy, your head bob and your feet tap. If you’re in the area make sure you swing by, as the show starts right around 7 tonight.


Will Mallett of alt-country act The Mallett Brothers Band will be performing a special solo performance up at The Speakeasy in Rockland tonight. Starting at 7 take in some of Will’s original music as well as some covers of some of his favorite songwriters.


Should you decide to get downright jazzy this evening then make sure you hit up tonight’s show at MJ’s Wine Bar at One City Center in Portland where Standard Issue will be playing all of the classics from the Great American Songbook. Tonight’s show is free and gets started right around 8, so swing by, enjoy a cocktail, and take in some golden era tunes this Thursday.


Another great show to check out this evening happens in the Biddeford area at The Oak & The Ax where four unique acts will be teaming up for an evening of inspiring indie-folk tunes. Starting at 8 you can check out sets from Older Men, Dog, Pitch and Methuin Muir in this interesting and intimate venue.


Get your folk-pop on with some serious good times courtesy of Portland’s Dapper Gents down at The Run of the Mill in Saco tonight. The fellas will be playing some original songs as well as covers at tonight’s free show that starts right around 8 o’clock.


Shooter’s Pub in Mechanic Falls welcomes one and all for their first Thursday night of live, local music. Enjoy some dinner and take in some tunes from local singer-songwriter Ron Bergeron. Ron will be serving up tons of tunes beginning at 8 including covers of The Beatles, Stones, Queen, Elvis, The Boss, Tom Petty, Paul Simon and maybe even Lady Gaga. So if you’re in the area tonight and looking for some free live music be sure to stop on by.


The Shakes, a 7-piece funk, rock and reggae collective from Hallowell that features some of the scene’s most fun and funky players will be performing live at Mine Oyster in Boothbay Harbor tonight starting at 9 o’clock.


Hot 104.7 presents RCA recording artist Kid Ink at The Asylum in Portland tonight. The Los Angeles rapper will be joined by special guests Tinashe and Kat Dahlia as things get jumpin’ right around 9.

 Two talented guys who know how to handle a guitar will be playing live at Empire on Congress Street in Portland this Thursday. Join seasoned bluesman Samuel James as he shares the stage alongside local singer-songwriter Scott Girouard for a night of songs and stories that gets underway right around 9 o’clock tonight upstairs at Empire.
Get ready to welcome back Brzowski, Moshe and Mike Clouds from their Lack of Restraint Tour by helping them cause some hometown, homecoming ruckus over at Geno’s on Congress Street tonight.  The trio that boasts some bad ass emcees and producers performed 11 shows all across France, Germany and Switzerland, tonight they bring the thunder stateside with a little help from their friends Kiddead and Sofa Brown. The party starts at 9 this Thirsty Thursday.
If you’re looking to shake your can to some quality house music tonight then make your way over to Flask Lounge in Portland for this Thursday’s Techno is for Lovers event featuring Omari Nkosi, Popgirl23 and j.hjort. Shake it on out at this free dance party, which gets underway right around 9.

Work it out this evening to some of the best tunes the 90s had to offer from such bands as Sublime, Blink 182, the GinBlossoms, Everclear, No Doubt and even Chumbawumba (yes, I just said Chumbawumba) down at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port where 90s cover band Hello Newman will be getting the party started right around 9:30 tonight.


Pop-rockers Kilcollins play their regular Thursday night gig down at RiRa on Commercial Street in Portland this evening. These talented gents will be rockin’ all the tunes that you know and love as well as some catchy originals mixed in for good measure. Tonight’s free rock n’ roll party gets started at 9:30.


Local act Vinyl Tap will be back at it again tonight as they play a plethora of songs that are certain to get you to shake your hips and have a ton of fun. Starting at 10 you can check these cats out as they cover everything from Stevie Wonder to The Beatles, Huey Lewis, Elton John and a ton more down at Gritty’s on Fore Street in Portland.
