I’m feeling like it’s about time to come out of hibernation, and even though we’re not entirely in the clear in regards to this whole winter situation, we are getting there. Why not celebrate an extra hour of daylight with an extra awesome Monday? There are a ton of great things shaking all around this evening, so let’s get down to it!
If you’re near the Lewiston area this Monday, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s where local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky will be hosting another edition of his weekly acoustic open mic night. Tonight’s free event gets underway at 6:30 and is open to all, so grab an instrument and get ready to make some music this Monday evening.
The Alan Kelly Gang will be performing at Acoustic Artisans on Congress Street in Portland tonight. This traditional Irish band hails from Galway and performs music from throughout the Celtic regions. Their show begins at 7 o’clock this evening.
Singer-songwriter Brian Patricks will be providing the soundtrack to your Monday evening as he plays a free show starting at 7 at Andy’s Old Port Pub in downtown Portland. Brian will be covering all the hits from yesterday and today, as well as sneaking in some catchy originals.
Every Monday night MJ’s Wine Bar, located at One City Center in downtown Portland, hosts a trio of jazz musicians that are also open to having other musicians sit in with them for a jam. Come see a ton of talented in a relaxed setting with wine, beer and friends as things get underway with a house band consisting of Jacob Cooley, Tony Palumbo and Kyle Friday right around 7 o’clock.
SPACE Gallery on Congress Street in Portland is making moves for a Monday night filled with high-energy, rock n’ roll sounds as they welcome three fun acts to the stage beginning at 7:30. Check out psychedelic garage rockers S.S. Cretins as they get things started tonight, followed by performances from Portland’s own space punk band, High Spirits and the pop punk quartet, Swearin’.
There will be even more open mic action tonight down at the Kerrymen Pub in Saco. Starting at 7:30, both solo musicians and full bands are encouraged to take to the stage and do their thing in front of a live audience. Tonight’s event is free, fun and a great way to show off your musical capabilities to an enthusiastic crowd.
Folk n’ roll this Monday with a fun show at Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland where local singer-songwriters Dustin Saucier, John Nels and June Politano team up to welcome Toronto-based folk-pop act The Keys to Portland for their very first show here in town. Tonight’s shindig should be a lot of fun filled with a lot of talent, so swing through and check things out as the evening gets started around 8 o’clock.
Don’t forget to head down to RiRa in Portland tonight for Evan Walsh’s open mic night. Things get started around 8 o’clock and EvGuy even has some instruments available for you to play and even if you can’t actually play anything, he’ll help you out by performing a version of a song for you to sing along to.
