There ain’t no doubt about it, I’ve had Friday on my mind since Sunday evening so I am ready and rip-roaring to tear things up this evening! Thankfully there’s more than a ton of things to check out tonight, so let’s do this thing!
The Friday night revelry starts early over at Dogfish Bar and Grille on Free Street in Portland tonight where Brian Patricks will be playing a Happy Hour set from 5 to 7 for free. Patricks will be playing a handful of original tunes coupled with classics that everyone know and loves all while you enjoy some well-deserved ice cold beverages.
Studio 250 on Read Street in Portland welcomes the Bedroom to Basement Acoustic Tour to the stage tonight with an all ages pop/rock show that gets underway right around 5 o’clock. On deck this evening is Jimmie Deeghan of Every Avenue, Rookie of The Year, Tidewater, Derek Wilkinson and Alex and Toby of Sparks the Rescue.
If you’re heading out for an island adventure this Friday evening, be sure to check in at The Inn on Peaks Island where Dave and Saeko of the terrifically awesome indie folk act, Post Provost will be playing a gig this evening. The fun starts right around 7 o’clock tonight.
Up in Thomaston tonight, Wesley Allen Hartley and the Traveling Trees will be bringing their own delectable brand of indie country folk to life on stage at Billy’s Tavern. The trio gets things going around 8pm.
If you’re looking for some good time, old school rock n’ roll then make your way down to Bayside Bowl in Portland tonight where the legendary Flipsides will be playing alongside special guests The Evil Streaks. DJ Matt Little will also be on hand to keep the party going in between sets. The party starts at 8 o’clock, so swing on by and check it out.
Portland indie rock act Metal Feathers releases their brand new album, Handful of Fog with an intimate show tonight down at Mayo Street Arts Center in Portland. Wood Burning Cat, Leaves Leaves and Alex Keaton will start things off right around 8.
Eternal Otter Records presents its final installment of the Zero Series at Zero Station in Portland this evening with The Reverie Machine as the band invites one and all to join in the process of the making of their new album, The Brightest Night. The interactive installation will include music, dance, and food. Proceeds from this all ages event will go towards Hannaford cards for folks in need. The one-of-a-kind show starts at 8.

Another fun night kicks into gear at The Big Easy in Portland tonight where El Grande will be bringing their funky grooves full of upbeat horns and danceable reggae and ska to the stage alongside special guests Pushing The Clock and Danny Pease and The Regulators. A terrific folk duo from Canada gears up for a fine show over at Empire Dine and Dance in Portland this evening. Tonight Whitehorse brings their unique songs to life on stage alongside special guests The Ghost of Paul Revere. Anticipate soaring voices and foot stomping melodies tonight as things kick into gear right around 9 o’clock.
A full blown rock n’ roll show takes over Geno’s on Congress Street in Portland tonight as Hessian, I Barbarian, The Coalsack in Crux and The Motor Creeps get ready to blow the roof off starting right around 9.
Mainely Brews in Waterville will be the place to be if you’re looking for an evening of good times and good tunes. Dirigo, which features members of Strangefolk, will bring to life their folk/alt-country jams for all this Friday night beginning at 9:30.
