Check out Houndmouth & Rayland Baxter at Port City Music Hall tonight

It almost seems as if Tuesday is trying to give us a little bit of a break in the action, maybe so we can finally wash those crusty Party Pants, but don’t be fooled as there are still a lot of awesome things going on all around tonight. Check it out.

Local singer-songwriter Brian Patricks will be joining forces with bassist Damon Holman to bring their acoustic rock and blues duo, Cayden’s Call, to life up at Fast Breaks in Lewiston tonight. Check out these fellas as they get things going right around 7 o’clock.

Make some moves down to The Thirsty Pig in the Old Port this evening for another installment of the weekly open mic known as The Exchange. Tonight’s gathering is for all musicians looking to collaborate, showcase, and workshop their own original music in front of an audience of peers and friends. All ages, genres and musical capabilities are welcome to join in the creative fun, so be sure to stop by and check things out as things get kicking right around 7.

I’m a sucker for old school electric guitar, organ sounds, and everyone in a band singing altogether to tell some kind of story through a song, so it’s no surprise that I’m excited for tonight’s show down at Port City Music Hall in Portland. Tonight Indiana’s Houndmouth will make a stop here in Portland as part of their winter tour to play some tunes and probably turn a few heads. The act has opened for the likes of the Drive-By Truckers, the Lumineers, the Alabama Shakes, Lucero, and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Things get started around 8 this Tuesday with an opening set for Nashville singer-songwriter Rayland Baxter, so don’t miss out.

The State Theatre in Portland welcomes the supergroup trio of instrumentalists and producers, The Glitch Mob to the stage for a full blow party this Tuesday evening. West Coast DJ, Ana Sia, who is known for breaking new sounds across all different dance floors, and Penthouse Penthouse will also be on hand for this electronic dance party. Things get jumping around 8 tonight.

Check out another open mic night specifically tailored for DJs down at Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland. Tonight’s event allows up-and-coming DJs to take a chance and get up on the tables alongside local veterans in the field. All you need to bring to participate are your records, CDs and controller. All formats of music are welcome as the fun gets starting right around 9.

Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge in Portland is ready to party down with another fun-filled Tuesday night of karaoke courtesy of DJ Ponyfarm. If you’re looking to sing along to all of your favorite 90s tunes, stop on by and do just that starting at 9 o’clock this evening.

Chill out to the awesome experimental jazz jams of the one and only Jaw Gems down at Local 188 in Portland tonight. The fellas will be laying it down at this free show that gets started right around 10.
