Today is brought to you by the power of false energy, also known in my world as Red Bull. This Friday is going to be the longest and greatest day of my life as I bring some music news to the masses via the TV, go to work and pretend to be a high functioning adult, and then play a rock n’ roll show with some of my best pals this evening. This is truly the stuff that dreams are made of. So raise your glasses high and sing the praises of this finally Friday. There’s a ton of stuff to do tonight, so no excuses, hike up those Party Pants and get down on it this evening!
Local folk-rock trio Silent Sam & The Evans will be pleasing earholes this evening as they play a free show starting at 7 o’clock over at Local Sprouts. These fellas will put a little pep in your step this Friday evening, so be sure to swing through and check ‘em out.

Down the street a tick over at The Asylum in Portland you can check out Collective Soul front man, Ed Roland’s new act, The Sweet Tea Project, alongside local opener, Hutch Heelan. Tonight’s show gets underway right around 8 as well.
If you’re south of Portland tonight and in dire need of some high-energy rock n’ roll then luck no further than the Bentley’s Saloon in Arundel where Seacoast rock act Red Sky Mary will be blasting off into the rock n’ roll stratosphere right 8 o’clock this Friday evening.

Starting at 8:30 this finally Friday you can check out some good eats and tasty tunes down at The Frog & Turtle on Main Street in Westbrook where Pete Witham & The Cozmik Zombies will be taking over with their own brand of twisted Americana/rockabilly.
Tonight at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland be sure to check out a great show that focuses on some terrific female-fronted acts. Do it to it, bust some moves, and spread some love this evening as this free dance party gets underway right around 9 o’clock.
I promise that there will be a little something for everyone at tonight’s show down at The Big Easy on Market Street in Portland. Beginning at 9, indie rocker, Dustin Saucier and his band, The Sad Bastards, team up with melodic pop-punk act, Volcano Rabbit and throwback garage rockers, The Desires for an evening chock full of good times and good tunes. This is The Desires’ (…my band, errr, awkward…) only show of the year so come watch us get weird on stage alongside our super-talented pals who decided it would be a good idea to share a bill with us.

If I didn’t have my annual Desires gig tonight I would most definitely be checking out this Friday’s show at Blue on Congress Street where the very talented and equally lovely Clara Junken will be playing some covers and originals this evening. You might recognize Clara from her work with pop-rock act Marion Grace. She sets out on her own this evening with a new band of backing musicians with a show that gets underway right around 10.
