Oh my, my, oh heck yes, you got to put on those Party Pants because it’s Wednesday! (I feel as if Tom Petty might be disappointeted in me for that one, oh well)… We’re half way to the freakin’ weekend, babies, and what better cause for celebration? Once again, lots of appealing events to check out this evening, so get some sustenance into your grocery hole, slip into those Party Pants and get on out there this evening. Here’s what’s the what.
Why not start the party off with some folk music designed to help you pass the time with a pint or two over at Bull Feeney’s? Tonight The Squid Jiggers will be returning to the stage to provide some good tunes and good times this evening. The duo starts things off around 8, so swing on by if you’re in the Old Port this evening.
Also making your mid-week rock a little more will be local singer-songwriter Ben Kilcollins who will be busting out some tunes starting at 8:30 over at RiRa on Commercial Street. Ben is not only a super nice dude, but also super skilled when it comes to writing songs that everyone can enjoy. This evening’s show is free so stop by and treat your earholes to some pleasant sounds if you’re in the area.
Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland gears up for an evening of pop punk that is certain to make you bust a move or two. This evening Portland rockers Better As Rivals take the stage alongside special guest Dustin Saucier for a night of fun that gets underway right around the 9 o’clock hour.
If you’re looking to celebrate with some local hip-hop this evening then scoot on down to The Big Easy on Market Street in Portland for the last Rap Night of 2012! Tonight hosts Ill by Instinct and El Shupacabra welcome Anthony Maintain and Soundfounder to the stage for an all-original showcase of heavy hitting rap tunes. There will also early and late open mics, so be sure to get there right around 9 tonight to check it all out.
Another finale takes place this evening as The Clash of the Titans closes out this season with an epic dance party upstairs at Empire Dine and Dance in Portland. Tonight a boat load of local musicians come together to bring to life two of the most well-known movie soundtracks of all time as Saturday Night Fever takes on Dirty Dancing. Shine up those boogie shoes and get ready to have the time of your life beginning at 9 o’clock.
