A-Frame says farewell with a big ol' party at Rap Night down at The Big Easy

Well dang, I went a little hard for a school night last night, but that’s all right because there’s no stopping this party train once it gets rolling. I’m going to put back on my crusty, dirty Party Pants and do it all over again tonight. Who’s with me? Let’s wile out on Wednesday like we’ve never wiled out before! Here we go!

Over at Bull Feeney’s on Fore Street in the Old Port the Squid Jiggers return to the stage with their own brand of folk music that’s infused with barley, sugar, yeast and hops – basically some good ol’ fashioned drinking music! Tonight the fellas get the good times rollin’ right around 8. It’s free and they certainly won’t run out of beer, so check it out.

Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland is getting ready for a night of unstoppable funky rock and roll with a show chock full of some talented players. Beginning at 8:30, get ready to kick out the Wednesday jams with Gang of Thieves, Subsonic, and Lord Earth. It’s gonna get loud, fun, and funky so be sure to check it out if you’re around this evening.

Also making your mid-week rock a little more will be local singer-songwriter Ben Kilcollins who will be busting out some tunes starting right around 8:30 down at RiRa on Commercial Street in the Old Port. Ben is not only a super nice dude, but also super skilled when it comes to writing songs that everyone can enjoy. This evening’s show is free so stop by and treat your earholes to some pleasant sounds if you’re in the area.

The Clash of the Titans keeps things rolling right along this week with a match up that should make any indie kid super happy, or I guess as happy as any indie kid could possibly be? I don’t know, I will admit that I’m slightly outta touch (GASP). Anyway, tonight Arcard Fire takes on Vampire Weekend upstairs at Empire Dine and Dance in Portland and will feature members of GinLab, Worried Well, Forget, Forget and more teaming up to do each group justice and go song for song during this week’s battle. Get hip and check it out starting right around 9:30 tonight.

Rap Night down at The Big Easy in Portland goes large this Wednesday with a farewell show from local hip-hopper A-Frame before he moves away to Ohio. Not only will tonight’s performance be a going away party, but it’s also A-Frame’s birthday so things are definitely bound to get awesome. Joining the fun will be Mike Clouds, God.Damn.Chan and the incredibly talented young rhyme slinger known as Rapper Ashley. There’ll also be an open mic portion of the evening so stop on by and get fresh this evening beginning right around 9 o’clock.

Local guitar slinger and singer-songwriter Scott Girouard will be performing a rare solo set at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland tonight. Starting at 10 you can check out Girouard’s first original solo set as he displays some never before heard material alongside some special guests.
