Where you need to be shopping this weekend: meca, joseph’s, the flea and more
My holiday list is ready. Now all I need to do is strap on my shopping shoes for a weekend of way-too-many-good-shopping-options-it-hurts. Here’s how I plan on hitting all the must-do shopping destinations this. Feel free to use this as a guide – or as a way to follow me around town.
FRIDAY NIGHT
Record Sale at Portland Flea-for-All: I am so ready to stock up on some vinyl from some of the biggest and baddest record sellers in New England. I also hear there will be egg nog. Bonus!
First Friday Art Walk: I love the December art walk. It is a MUST. Start at Merchant Trading on Congress and make your way down to Pinecone + Chickadee. Check out this guide for more on where to walk the walk.
SATURDAY
Meca Holiday Sale: I also like to refer to this sale as the-people-that-are-young-and-way-more-talented-than-me sale. Last year I picked up some beautiful jewelry and ceramic mugs. My favorite bowtie guy will also be there, so be sure to say hello to him. Sale starts on Friday evening during the art walk and goes until 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Eastland Shoe Trunk Show at Joseph’s: If you consider yourself a shoe aficionado, then you already know about Maine-based Eastland. They will be at Joseph’s on Saturday from 9:30 to 5:30 to reveal new additions to their line. Customers that stop in can also enter to win a pair from their popular 1955 Edition Collection!
SUNDAY
Picnic Music + Arts Festival: The event I wait for year-round. This is your one-stop shopping destination for holiday gifts. I’m so excited about it that I probably won’t sleep the night before. See the full list of who will be selling on their facebook page.
