What in the bleep is a BB Cream?

If you’re a beauty junkie like me, you’ve already heard about the cream that’s sweeping the nation, the BB Cream. It’s a girl’s new best friend. BB (Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm) first gained popularity in Asia and has since been sweeping us here in the states. The great thing about these is that they do it all. Supposedly.

A BB cream claims to be a multitasker, which means one little tube is supposed to be your moisturizer, daily SPF, anti-aging fighter, concealer and light foundation in one! These little guys have some big shoes to fill.

If you aren’t a foundation wearer, they’re a great option for light coverage. However, if you’re used to mild to moderate coverage, you might still want to use concealer or a heavier foundation with your BB. I’ve tried a few brands that offer a more matte look, which you’ll want to avoid. Look for one that goes on sheer.

When in doubt, pop into a local Ulta or Sephora for some help. They can help you shop by skin type: oily, combination, super dry. And guess what fellas? (Not that they’re reading this post…) but there are BB creams for men too!

I’ve tried several from the drugstore and currently love this one. Also totally unrelated, but worth noting, I have a borderline obsession with these. I own them in every. single. color. Have a BB cream (or beauty product) you adore? Please share the wealth!
