Vintage, handmade and awesome at new shop decades

After picking up my morning coffee at CBD on Congress Street early Saturday morning, I saw that the door to Decades was finally open. The hot pink feathered gown was clearly calling my name so I decided to swing in.

Decades is a perfect blend of handmade, vintage and very retro. The price tags are friendly, from a $2 grab bag basket to $100 or so for a beautifully kept vintage fur coat. I chatted with one of the owners Amber, who you might known from behind the bar at Asylum, as she excitedly told me that the store is a longtime hobby that has finally come to fruition.

If it’s jewelry you’re seeking, this is a great new store to check out. From repurposed vintage to handcrafted, delicate pieces by Gem Lounge, there’s something for everyone here. There’s also racks on either side of the wall chock full of curated blouses, coats and dresses with many styles from the late 60′s and 70′s. You’ll find lots of unique kitsch too, like a marriage certificate from the 1830′s.

This spot might be a part of my new weekend routine – after I get my coffee of course.
