After visiting Maine only a handful of times, Laura Serino packed up her studio apartment in New York City and headed north for "the way life should be." After a summer on North Haven island, she and her boyfriend, a Maine native, settled in Portland, Maine. Serino is a former magazine editor who has been published in national and regional publications. When she isn't blogging, she spends her time antiquing, scouring thrift shops, exploring new places in Maine and cozying up to her cat Jasper. She recently completed her first book, "Twentysomething Girl, 1001 Quick Tips and Tricks to Make Your Life Easier." Reach her at info@forefrontfashion.com Follow her: @ForeFrontFash

Show Your Love fundraiser and a giveaway!

As much as Valentine’s Day is about fluffy romantic cards, red roses and chocolate wine, I’ve found an even better way to spread some love. Cute Potato, your go-to blog for everything kid-friendly in Maine, is hosting 14 days of giveaways to benefit the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. When readers donate to the hospital, they’re automatically entered to win a particular day’s giveaway.
Today’s giveaway features a necklace and earring set from Minka. The giveaway ends tonight at MIDNIGHT EST. Winners will be chosen at random on February 14 and there’s still a week’s worth of prizes left to win. I’d recommend checking back over at Cute Potato every day to see what they’re giving away. If you want to know more about how you can make a donation to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital and learn more about the programs and services they offer, you can visit their site here.

Thanks so much to Jen over at Cute Potato for letting us know about such an important cause.
