The Travel Channel Puts the Kennebunk Inn’s Lobster Pot Pie Back in the Spotlight
KENNEBUNK, Maine – The Kennebunk Inn’s famous Maine Lobster Pot Pie will star in an upcoming episode of the Travel Channel’s “Food Paradise” series. Owners of the Inn and chefs of Academe Restaurant, Brian and Shanna O’Hea, will showcase their signature Maine Lobster Pot Pie in an episode, Pot Pie Paradise, scheduled to air Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 10 p.m.
The Travel Channel’s series highlights some of the best eats across the country and the Nov. 7 episode, Pot Pie Paradise, is dedicated to America’s best pot pies. The Travel Channel crew visited Brian and Shanna this summer to capture a behind-the-scenes look at their Lobster Pot Pie in the Academe kitchen.
The Lobster Pot Pie has been on Academe’s menu for more than six years and was first inspired by Shanna and Brian O’Hea’s passion for travel and local Maine foods. As chefs and a married couple who met in culinary school, their goal was to pay homage to the traditional lobster dish while adding their own personal spin. Brian’s use of signature lobster stock and delicate meat, paired with Shanna’s hand-rolled puff pastry has helped the dish gain national acclaim.
Celebrity chef Cat Cora first highlighted the Lobster Pot Pie on an episode of the Food Network show “The Best Thing I Ever Ate,” and Shanna competed in an episode of the network’s hit cooking series “Chopped.”
Thanks to growing demand for the dish, the Inn is now shipping its famous Maine Lobster Pot Pies across the country via MaineLobsterPotPie.com. Shanna and Brian O’Hea ship fresh Maine lobster with accompaniments to doorsteps nationwide so that home cooks can prepare everything from the O’Hea’s signature Lobster Pot Pie to Maine Lobster Rolls. All orders are shipped overnight via UPS; the ingredients must remain cold and be used promptly. Dishes can be ordered online https://mainelobsterpotpie.

About the Kennebunk Inn
The original building of what is now The Kennebunk Inn was built as a private residence by Phineas Cole in 1799, less than thirty years after the founding of the Republic. In 1928, the private home was converted to a hotel and restaurant known as “The Tavern.” In the late 1930s the name of the hotel was changed to The Kennebunk Inn. This 200-year old property right in the heart of Kennebunk was remodeled in 2008 and has been certified as a green company since 2009. The Inn has 18 guest rooms and eight family suites.
