Halloween costume planning is often all or nothing. Either you got a brilliant idea last Nov. 1 and have spent the past year assembling the parts, or you left it to the last minute and have no clever concept, let alone time to put it together. For those in the latter boat, we’re here to help. With the presidential election swiftly approaching, politics are top of mind for most people. While there are sure to be plenty of pant suits and orange wigs to go around this weekend, you can be unique yet still relevant by staying local with your portrayal of a political persona. The state’s biggest news stories of the past year have given us plenty to work with, and all of these costumes only require a prop or two to turn you from a costume-dodger to conversation-starter.
