Amy Allen @ North Windham Union Church | Windham | Maine | United States

On Saturday, August 10th at 7:00 PM, Amy Allen will perform a concert at the North Windham Union Church. Amy is a talented singer/songwriter who grew up here in Windham and now lives in South Portland. She started playing guitar and writing songs when she was nine years old and plays a great mix of country-influenced pop. Amy has become very popular throughout Maine playing on 207, at the Old Port Festival, the LL Bean concert series, and opening for Ben Taylor, Jonathan Edwards, and many others. She appeared on season 2 of NBC’s The Voice, is currently attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, and recently completed her third CD release.

This concert is the seventh in the “Music with a Mission” series sponsored by the North Windham Union Church. The church donates a portion of the proceeds to area non-profits. Amy has chosen to support the Windham Primary School Playground Fund with the community proceeds from this concert since her mother, Melissa, taught there for many years. Tickets will be sold at the door and are $12 for adults and $10 for students, children, and seniors. The box office opens at 6:15 and the doors will open at 6:30. The North Windham Union Church is located at 723 Roosevelt Trail in Windham and is air-conditioned for your comfort. For more information please call 892-7149 or email MWAMconcerts@gmail.com.

“Amy has become a real favorite with audiences throughout Southern Maine, and we are very excited to welcome her back to Windham to perform this summer,” said Dr. Richard Nickerson, Minister of Music for NWUC. “’Her career has taken off in recent years, so it will be fun to showcase her talent for local fans and summer visitors too.” Amy’s music has been compared to Adele, Nora Jones, and Taylor Swift, and her most recent EP ‘Other Side of Somewhere’ was just released last month to great reviews.

So far, the Music with a Mission concerts have provided almost $6,000 in support of NWUC and direct gifts to local non-profits. Please join us for a cool, comfortable concert and enjoy Amy Allen while supporting our community and the new playground for the Windham Primary School!
